The Operator
The Operator
The Operator is a short dramatic film chronicling a day in the life of a young woman working at a 911 call center. The story revolves around an existential conflict of will between the operator and a caller she is desperately trying to keep alive. The story arose from one of the producer’s relatives sharing her experience working as a 911 operator and the struggles of PTSD such operators go through from the calls they hear. After connecting with 911 operators around the country the short film went viral and now has over 100,000 views on YouTube and won Best Short Film at the Catalina Film Festival.
